The Town of Granite Falls is seeking one vendor to deliver an integrated water and electric Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution. - Government buyer: Town of Granite Falls, North Carolina; Public Utilities, led by the Director of Public Utilities. - Named OEMs and vendors: Itron — existing AMI-compatible electric meters to be assessed and integrated, not replaced; Neptune — manufacturer of most existing water-meter bodies, primarily T-10 models; Tyler — provider of the Tyler ERP Pro 10 utility billing system to be integrated. - Products requested: AMI communications network and related equipment; head-end and meter-data software; AMI registers/endpoints or complete replacement water meters; and integration with existing Itron electric meters. The Town has approximately 2,715 electric meters, including 600–700 identified AMI-compatible Itron meters, and 2,836 water meters. - Water-meter quantities: 2,693 3/4-inch; 49 1-inch; 76 2-inch; 3 3-inch; 2 4-inch; 11 6-inch; 1 8-inch; and 1 12-inch. These are inventory quantities, not guaranteed deployment quantities. Proposals must separately price retrofitting existing meter bodies with AMI registers and complete meter replacement; final work depends on compatibility, condition, reliability, funding, and Town approval. - Services: Assess existing Itron meters and Neptune T-10 and other water-meter bodies; conduct a communications propagation study and network design; evaluate three existing water tanks as possible equipment sites; install and configure equipment; integrate AMI data with Tyler ERP Pro 10; perform water-meter conversion or replacement, GPS inventory, testing, commissioning, training, and documentation; and provide warranty, maintenance, and ongoing technical support. - Notable requirements: The vendor is expected to provide an integrated solution and retain single-point responsibility. The Town must approve the network design and propagation study before full water-meter deployment. Proposals should include phased implementation and disclose anticipated recurring costs, including support and communications costs.

The Town of Granite Falls is seeking proposals from qualified firms for a complete, integrated Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system serving its water and electric utilities. The scope includes communications infrastructure, system design and software, integration with the existing utility billing system, water meter endpoints or registers, installation, GPS location of water meters, training, testing, commissioning, and ongoing support. The solution must provide one platform for water meters and compatible existing Itron electric meters; electric meters are not to be replaced. The RFP calls for detailed unit pricing and phased implementation options for water meters, with conversion or replacement based on compatibility, condition, reliability, pricing, and available funding.
