This opportunity from the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island seeks a purebred English Bulldog puppy to serve as the official USMC mascot. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Marine Corps - Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island - Product Requested: - One purebred female English Bulldog puppy - AKC-registered - 8-16 weeks old at delivery - White with brown markings - Sound, stable temperament - Genetically tolerant to heat and humidity (suitable for Parris Island, SC) - Comprehensive veterinary exams, genetic health screening, inoculations, microchip identification - Breeder must comply with USDA and state regulations - Deliverables: AKC registration, certified pedigree, medical dossier, diet and transition plan - Unique Requirements: - Health warranties: 14 days for immediate health, 2 years for congenital/genetic conditions - Delivery window: December 1-15, prior to current mascot's retirement - Post-delivery veterinary evaluation within five business days - No specific OEMs or breeders are named; vendors must demonstrate capability to meet all requirements.

Sources Sought ONLY, this is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract/purchase order.  The purpose of this Sources Sought is to seek out interested Small Businesses capable of fulfilling this requirement for a new USMC Mascot aboard Marine Corps recruit Depot Parris Island, SC.

MCRDPI is performing market research to determine available sources that can provide one (1) Purebred English Bulldog puppy.    

Description:

The contractor shall deliver one English Bulldog puppy:  

Purebred English Bulldog, registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC). Sex: Female. Age: Between 8 and 16 weeks old at the time of delivery (December 1-15, 2026). Color: White with brown markings. Temperament: shall be of sound and stable temperament Genetic Suitability:  the puppy must come from lineage with genetic tolerance to the heat and humidity in Parris Island, South Carolina. 

Interested Vendors shall provide the following information to the POC:

Cage Code/ Unique Identity Code.  Socio Economic Status (i.e., HUBZone, Woman Owned Small Business). Breeders Capability Statement providing all requirements stated in PWS.

All Sources Sought responses shall be received by 11:00AM (EST) on 01 October 2026.
