CDC Awards Diagnostic Development Contracts

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has awarded multiple contracts under a new Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) vehicle to accelerate the development and production of rapid diagnostic tests for public health emergencies. MRIGlobal received a contract valued up to $148 million to support scalable diagnostic test development, laboratory efficiency, and data sharing enhancements. Separately, Cepheid was selected as a national collaborator under a multiple-award IDIQ to advance rapid diagnostic innovation, gaining early access to outbreak samples and genomic data to strengthen U.S. pandemic preparedness.
