Independent Engineer services for the Gitga’at Power Project

Gitga’at First Nation is seeking engineering firms to provide independent oversight for the Gitga’at Power Project. - Government buyer: Gitga’at First Nation. The Independent Engineer is expected to support the British Columbia Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship in regulating construction of the Project works. - Requested service: Independent Engineer services associated with the Project’s anticipated water licence. The role is distinct from the Owner’s Engineer. - Procurement stage: Qualifications are being requested; up to three proponents may be shortlisted for a later RFP. Pricing is not requested at this stage. - OEMs and vendors: No product OEMs, vendors, part numbers, or quantities are identified.

Description

Gitga’at Power Limited Partnership invites qualified engineering firms or teams to submit qualifications to serve as the Independent Engineer for the Gitga’at Power Project. The Independent Engineer is expected to be required under the Project’s anticipated water licence and will provide services to the British Columbia Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship to regulate construction of the Project works; the IE is not the Owner’s Engineer. This is the first stage of a two-stage process, with up to three proponents expected to be shortlisted and invited to a subsequent RFP that will include commercial terms and pricing. Pricing should not be included in the RFQ response.
