U.S. Coast Guard Procurement of 42 Thern Stainless Steel Wire Rope Assemblies

The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking a one-time purchase of Thern wire rope assemblies for its Surface Forces Logistics Center. - Government buyer: U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC). - OEM and specified brand: Thern Inc. The solicitation requires the named Thern product. - Requested product: 42 single-leg wire rope assemblies, part number WSS19-60NS-P, NSN 4010-01-644-5059. - Each assembly is 60 feet long and 3/16-inch in diameter, made of Grade 316 7x19 stainless steel wire rope. - One end has a stainless steel swivel hook with safety latch; the other has a stainless steel swaged ball. - Notable requirements: Each assembly must be load-tested, with manufacturer documentation shipped with it. Items must be individually packaged, cushioned, marked, and bar-coded as specified. - Delivery: Delivery is required to the Coast Guard’s receiving location in Baltimore, Maryland. The solicitation specifies a delivery deadline. - Acquisition: Small-business set-aside; quotations are evaluated for technical compliance, timeframe, and price.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the FAR Overhaul Part 12 and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Offers are being requested, and a separate written solicitation will not be issued.

Solicitation 70ZU0127QBRO022 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ)

This solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses by reference.  Full text of provisions and clauses may be accessed electronically at www.acquisition.gov.

This acquisition is set-aside for small business concerns.

This acquisition is Brand Name Mandatory.  Brand name part is mandatory to be considered for award.  

The U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order. No down payments or advanced payments will be made to the awarded vendor.

Award will be made on a Best Value Basis as result of this synopsis/solicitation.  All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by this agency.  Best Value will be evaluated by who meets all technical requirements, who meets our required time frame and by price.

3/16" DIAMETER, GRADE 316 7X19 STAINLESS STEEL WIRE ROPE ASSEMBLY, 60' IN LENGTH.

ONE END WILL HAVE A STAINLESS STEEL SWIVEL HOOK WITH SAFETY LATCH ON ONE END AND A STAINLESS STEEL SWAGED BALL ON THE OTHER. ASSEMBLY WILL BE LOAD TESTED AND DOCUMENTATION WILL BE SHIP WITH THE ASSEMBLY AS PER THERN MANUF.

INDIVIDUALLY PACKAGED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1E METHOD 10, CUSHIONED AND PACKED IN AN APPROPRIATELY SIZED ASTM-D5118 DOUBLE-WALL FIBERBOARD BOX. FAILURE TO MEET THE PACKING, PACKAGING, MARKING AND BAR-CODING REQUIREMENTS WILL RESULT IN WAREHOUSE REJECTION AND ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED BACK TO VENDOR. MARKING IAW MIL-STD-129R EXCEPT BAR CODED IAW ISO/IEC-16388-2007, CODE 39 SYMBOLOGY.

IF VENDORS CANNOT INDIVIDUALLY PACKAGE, PACK, MARK AND BAR-CODE AS REQUIRED, VENDORS MAY USE A THIRD PARTY TO PACKAGE ITEMS AS REQUIRED IF NECESSARY. PROVIDE ADDITIONAL COST WITH QUOTATION. ITEMS THAT ARE NOT INDIVIDUALLY PACKAGED WILL NOT BE RECIEVED
