Missouri is gathering vendor information and budgetary pricing for a hybrid framework to discover, classify, tag, and map sensitive state data; this is an RFI, not a formal bid. - Government buyer: State of Missouri, Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (ITSD), on behalf of the Office of AI and Innovation and Office of Cyber Security. - Requested products and scope: - Automated data security posture scanning software for approximately 1.5 PB of high-risk data: 1.0 PB of unstructured SharePoint Online data and 0.5 PB of structured transactional database data. - User-driven endpoint data classification software for approximately 35,000 active state agency data sources; budgetary pricing is also requested for a stated scope of 8,800 users. - Key requirements: Scan endpoints, on-premises shares, multiple clouds, Microsoft 365, and databases; run scans locally in Missouri’s secure environments without sending file contents to a third-party cloud; apply persistent metadata tags and visual markings; maintain tamper-proof event logs; support lightweight endpoint operation and role-based access; and use a shared, platform-agnostic metadata schema. When user and automated classifications conflict, the system must default to the highest-risk classification. Database fingerprints must be provided to Forcepoint EDM. - Named OEMs and vendors: Forcepoint (including Exact Data Matching/EDM), Microsoft (Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Purview, and Microsoft Information Protection), ServiceNow, Data.World, and Dynatrace. The solution is also expected to integrate with SIEM and CASB platforms; no prospective respondent or supplier is identified. - Desirable capabilities: NLP/ML, compliance dashboards and risk heatmaps, suggested classifications with one-click confirmation, ServiceNow integration, and silent read-only baseline scanning.
Description
The State of Missouri is seeking information on services and technical components for a hybrid data classification framework; this is an RFI only, not a formal bid solicitation, and no award will result. The contemplated solution includes an automated background scanning tool and a user-driven endpoint classification tool, using a shared metadata schema to identify, classify, and protect sensitive data. The stated scope includes scanning a targeted 1.5 PB of high-risk data and providing an endpoint classification agent for approximately 35,000 active state agency data sources. Responses may include solution details and budgetary pricing estimates; they are due December 7, 2026.
