The U.S. Air Force is seeking market information for one new large CNC Sinker EDM machine for AEDC’s Model Shop at Arnold Air Force Base. - Government buyer: Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Test Center (AFTC/PZIA), Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Model Shop, West Shop, Building 451. The notice names Sarahanne Funkhouser as the contact. - Requested equipment: One new, fully functional Large CNC Sinker EDM. Refurbished or remanufactured parts are prohibited. No OEM, vendor, or part number is named in the materials. - Key specifications: Minimum 50 x 35-inch worktable; workpiece capacity of at least 55 x 40 x 15 inches and 6,500 pounds; X/Y/Z travel of at least 35/23/17 inches; 120-amp maximum peak output; and 480V, three-phase, 60 Hz power compatibility or an included step-down transformer. Extensive accuracy, control, safety, and filtration specifications also apply. - Delivery and support: Deliver within four months after receipt of order. Scope includes delivery, installation supervision, assembly, startup, on-site functional testing, manuals and schematics, and training for three people, including two days of formal training beginning at startup. This is a Sources Sought Notice to determine the availability and technical capability of small and large businesses to meet the Government’s requirement for a new, fully functional Large Sinker EDM for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold AFB, Tennessee, in accordance with Attachment 1 – 1848 Large CNC EDM Sinker Specification Sheet.
