USDA seeks annual supply and delivery of bulk hammered sawdust bedding

The USDA Agricultural Research Service is seeking bulk hammered sawdust bedding for the Marshfield Agricultural Research Station. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS); Marshfield Agricultural Research Station. The price schedule identifies the Contracting Operations Branch/Acquisition and Property Division. - Procurement: Supply and delivery of 800 tons of bulk hammered sawdust bedding per year. No OEMs, manufacturers, or vendors are named. - Delivery and product requirements: Approximately 35–40 loads of 20–24 tons, delivered about every 10 days. Sawdust must meet specified moisture, particle-size, bulk-density, and cleanliness requirements; contain no additives or foreign debris; and include all delivery fees and other costs in the quote. - Performance structure: One base year and four option years in the price schedule. One specifications section also mentions a possibility of three additional option years, so the attachment summaries contain an inconsistency. - Line items: The specifications list 800 tons for the supply year; the price schedule lists 800 tons for each of the base year and four option years.

Description

Amendment:  The purpose is to correct a typographical error in the Period of Performance (POP) field within Attachment 3 (Price Schedule of Line Items).  Specifically, the Period of Performance end date has been corrected to read 12/13/2031. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.  Replacement document "Attachment 3 - Price Schedule of Line Items" has been uploaded to replace the previous version in its entirety.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.  Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. 

Solicitation number 1232SA27Q0025 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the supply and delivery of 800 tons of bulk hammered sawdust bedding consisting of a one (1) one-year base period and four (4) one-year option periods, with a total contract duration not to exceed five (5) years.  All supply and deliveries must strictly adhere to the technical requirements, quality standards, and delivery schedules detailed herein and in the attached Specifications document.

This acquisition  is set-aside for small business concerns.  The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 321113. The small business size standard is 550 employees.  This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside.  All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
