Description
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas, received an application from SAExploration Seismic Services (US), LLC to conduct a 3D seismic survey on the North Slope. The proposed project area covers approximately 205.31 square miles of State-owned, privately owned, and Kuukpik lands, but the permit would authorize work only on State lands. The survey would use tracked vibrators and autonomous recording channels to collect data for oil exploration and development. Work is expected to begin in January 2027, or when tundra travel opens, and continue until completion or travel conditions no longer support operations. Written comments are due December 4, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Alaska Standard Time.
