NASA is seeking capability statements for mechanical interface design and structural analysis supporting microwave instruments aboard its WB-57 aircraft. - Agency and location: NASA Shared Services Center (NASA/NSSC); work at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). - Potential procurement: NASA is considering a sole-source procurement and is using responses to determine whether the requirement should be competed. This is a request for capability statements—not quotes or oral responses. - Scope: Design and analyze a mechanical insert for a 6-foot WB-57 pallet for HIWRAP, MBARS or CRS, CoSSIR, and CoSMIR instruments. The work includes antenna and instrument configurations, mounting plates for existing electronics boxes (designed for the boxes’ mass plus 25% and their volume), and at least one auxiliary port. - Deliverables and requirements: Perform structural analysis under the WB-57 Experimenters Handbook; provide fabrication drawings and a 3D model in .stp format. Consider mounted structures and instruments only for their effects on the designed structures. - Response reference: Notice ID 80NSSC27947412Q. No quantities, part numbers, or specific vendor are identified.
