North Georgia EMC is seeking legal counsel to support energy tax-credit compliance for planned battery storage projects. - Government buyer: North Georgia EMC (NGEMC), the issuing organization and electric-cooperative client; the registry lists Murray County Government as the customer. - Requested service: Legal due diligence and advisory services covering project structuring, Section 48E eligibility, tax-credit compliance and documentation, procurement and contracting, Section 6417 Direct Pay requirements, and audit defensibility. - Project context: Partners plan to deploy up to 5 MW (5,000 kW) and 20 MWh (20,000 kWh) of utility-scale battery energy storage, with at least four hours of storage. These batteries are project context, not items being procured through this legal-services opportunity. - Key requirements: The selected law firm must demonstrate direct project-level experience with both Section 48E credits and battery storage projects. Section 6417 Direct Pay experience is preferred. Work must address applicable federal funding, labor, and domestic-content requirements, and support defensible tax-credit claims. - Potential credits: The work should support the base 30% credit tied to prevailing-wage and apprenticeship requirements and, where applicable, additional credits for domestic content and location in an energy community. - OEMs and vendors: No battery OEMs, law firms, or other vendors are named.
