The Federal Aviation Administration proposes changes to three VOR Federal Airways in the eastern United States. - Government buyer: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), within the U.S. Department of Transportation; no sub-agency or office is identified. - Proposed changes: Amend portions of V-44, V-170, and V-312 in response to the planned decommissioning of the Andrews, Maryland VORTAC. - Navigation impact: Remove airway segments that would lack sufficient ground-based navigation coverage; adjacent VOR and RNAV routes and air traffic control radar vectors would remain available alternatives. - Procurement status: This is a proposed regulatory rulemaking, not a procurement. No products, services, quantities, part numbers, OEMs, vendors, or contract value are identified.
Description
The Federal Aviation Administration proposes to amend domestic VOR Federal Airways V-44, V-170, and V-312 in the eastern United States. The changes are proposed because the Andrews, Maryland VOR/Tactical Air Navigation facility is planned for decommissioning. The proposal would remove airway segments that would lack navigation coverage and adjust the routes accordingly. Comments must be received by December 21, 2026.
