Fermilab Mu2e Project: Six Precast Concrete Shield Blocks

Fermilab is seeking six engineered precast concrete shield blocks for the Mu2e Project. - Buyer: U.S. Department of Energy, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab). - Procurement: Manufacture and delivery of six reinforced precast concrete shield blocks: CRA-152.5 (2), CRA1-152.5 (1), CRA2-152.5 (1), CRB1-166 (1), and CRB2-166 (1). - OEMs and vendors: No block manufacturer or OEM is named. Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC (FermiForward) is named in an annual subcontractor certification attachment, not as the block supplier. - Requirements: Follow ISD 6-10-32 drawings and Specification 03410. Production must use a PCI-certified plant; concrete must reach 5,000 psi compressive strength at 28 days and have a maximum water-cementitious ratio of 0.40. Provide embedded items, reinforcement, and shop/setting drawings. - Delivery: Deliver to the Mu2e (MC-2) Building hardstand at Fermilab, coordinate transportation and offloading, and provide 48-hour notice. The specification says Fermilab handles off-loading. - Schedule: Submittals are due within 14 calendar days of purchase order issuance; delivery is due within 56 days; project completion is within 84 days, including acceptance of as-built drawings and required submittals. - Additional attachment: FermiForward’s subcontractor representations and certifications form is effective for 12 months after signature; it does not specify additional products or block quantities.
