DTRA-JSTO is seeking a prototype to apply AI and machine learning to fielded chemical and biological sensors. - Government buyer: Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Joint Science and Technology Office (JSTO). - Requested effort: Design, develop, and demonstrate a modular AI Model Suite for remote sensor operation, sensor-health monitoring, and adaptive optimization. - Technical approach: Deploy AI models at the tactical edge, supported by a centralized cloud or server architecture. - Objective: Improve sensor reliability, performance, and life cycle in contested environments. - OEMs and vendors: None are named; no specific products, part numbers, or quantities are provided. - Notable requirements: The effort is a prototype focused on chemical and biological sensors. The notice does not specify a period of performance or contract value.
Description
This prototype project will design, develop, and demonstrate an AI- and ML-based approach for remote operation, health monitoring, and adaptive optimization of fielded Chemical and Biological (CB) sensors. It will create a modular AI Model Suite deployed at the tactical edge and supported by a centralized cloud or server architecture. The suite is intended to maximize sensor reliability, performance, and life cycle in contested environments. Submissions are due December 1, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and the submission type is an Enhanced White Paper.
