SAWS annual as-needed hearing-protection supply

San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is seeking bids for an as-needed annual supply of five types of employee hearing protection. - Buyer: San Antonio Water System (SAWS), Purchasing Department. - OEMs and named product brands: Protective Industrial Products, Inc. (PIP), 3M, Howard Leight, and HexArmor. Reference and approved models include products from all four brands. - Estimated annual quantities and reference products: - 80 headband earmuffs — SAWS item 33838; PIP 263-V2NB. - 300 banded ear plugs — SAWS item 11535; 3M E-A-Rflex 28, 320-1000. - 6,500 disposable earplugs — SAWS item 11534; PIP Mega Flare Plus, 267-HPF910C. - 4,500 reusable four-flange earplugs — SAWS item 11532; PIP 267-HPR400C. - 4,300 reusable three-flange earplugs — SAWS item 38239; PIP 267-HPR320C. - Notable requirements: Products must meet SAWS Specifications 600-21 through 600-25 or qualify as approved equals. Minimum noise reduction ratings range from 25 to 30 dB by product type. Specifications also set design, weight, cord, fit, and packaging requirements; sealed boxes of 100 pairs are requested for the disposable and reusable earplug items, with pricing per pair. HexArmor simpleFit 18-14001 is approved for the four-flange reusable item only, not the banded-plug item. Orders are as-needed and quantities and order frequency are not guaranteed. - Contract term: One-year initial term, with up to four additional one-year renewals by mutual agreement and a possible extension of up to six months.

Description

The San Antonio Water System is soliciting bids to establish an annual contract for ear plugs in various sizes and styles, purchased on an as-needed basis.
