The U.S. Department of Transportation is proposing an FAA privacy system for certain unmanned-aircraft beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of the Secretary; the system supports Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) activities. - Notice purpose: Establish a Privacy Act system of records titled “Unmanned Aircraft System Beyond Visual Line of Sight Operations—Parts 108/146.” This is a privacy notice, not a procurement solicitation. - Individuals covered: Operators, manufacturers, and Automated Data Service Providers seeking approvals to conduct or support covered operations in the U.S. national airspace. - Records support: Applications, service authorizations, waivers, aircraft airworthiness acceptance, manufacturer registration, and ADSP certification and service authorizations. - OEMs and vendors: None identified. No products, quantities, part numbers, or services are being purchased.
Description
The U.S. Department of Transportation proposes a new system of records under the Privacy Act of 1974. The system will allow the FAA to collect, use, and maintain information from individuals who are operators, manufacturers, or Automated Data Service Providers requesting authorizations for certain beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations in the United States national airspace. Comments are due by December 3, 2026; the system is effective immediately, and its routine uses take effect December 3, 2026.
