Description

Bay County seeks bids from qualified vendors to remove and recycle segregated white goods and scrap metals collected at the Steelfield Road Landfill. Materials may be baled, compacted, or shredded at the landfill, provided the equipment prevents refrigerant oils and other contaminants from being discharged into the environment. Non-segregated metals must be removed from the waste stream or inactive disposal area on an ongoing basis, or as needed to avoid negatively affecting landfill operations. Appliances, machinery with small engines that may contain petroleum products, and other prohibited items are segregated for recycling, along with predominantly metal items such as grills, swing sets, and metal roofing.
