The City of Avondale is seeking instructors to deliver community recreation classes, programs, and workshops. - Government buyer: City of Avondale, Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department; Procurement Department is identified in the instructor agreement. - Opportunity: Contractors propose and teach offerings for residents across varied ages, interests, and skill levels. Each class or program requires a separate proposal covering content, intended participants, enrollment range, schedule, fees, supplies, and facility or equipment needs. - Products and vendors: No products, part numbers, or OEMs are specified. City registration and promotion use City channels, including CivicRec. - Contractor requirements: Selected instructors must meet applicable experience and credential requirements, maintain CPR and First Aid certifications, complete background checks and fingerprinting, and provide required insurance, a W-9, and an executed agreement. Contractors generally supply their own personnel, equipment, and materials at their expense. - Program delivery: Contractors manage instruction, attendance, participant communications, safety, accessibility, evaluations, and required course outlines. The Department determines program placement, schedules, and start dates; an application does not guarantee selection. - Compensation: The contractor generally receives 70% of program revenue, with 30% retained by the City, subject to a contract cap. Fees and supply charges require disclosure and City approval; programs may be canceled for insufficient enrollment. - Insurance and term: General liability coverage is generally required at $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate. The initial agreement term is set at signing, with up to four successive one-year renewals by mutual agreement and subject to City approval and funding.
