The City of Ames is seeking three used walking-floor trailers to transport municipal solid waste to its Resource Recovery and Recycling Campus. - Buyer: City of Ames, Iowa — Department of Fleet Services, Fleet Acquisition Program; Finance is also identified in the bid materials. - Quantity and specification: Three trailers total, offered as three separate one-trailer line items under specification ETL-1637-1639. Bidders may offer one or more units, and the City may award them separately. - Trailer requirements: Each trailer must be at least 48 feet long and suitable for transporting shredded municipal solid waste. Tandem, split/spread, or triple-axle configurations are acceptable. A leak-resistant walking floor is preferred. - Bidder-provided information: Identify each trailer’s manufacturer, make, model, year, dimensions, capacity, age and condition; disclose known defects or major repairs; and describe the walking-floor manufacturer and type, tarp system, options, warranty, and operator-manual availability and cost. - Inspection, warranty, and delivery: Candidate trailers are subject to City inspection and must be available for viewing for at least four days after bid closing. Warranty coverage for covered items is specified as 100% of parts, labor, and shipping during the stated warranty period. Delivery is FOB destination to the City’s Fleet Services facility, with freight and delivery costs included; bidders must provide a delivery plan. - OEMs and vendors: No specific trailer manufacturer, walking-floor OEM, or vendor is named.
