Midland Independent School District is seeking E-Rate connectivity and network upgrades for its district and eligible entities. - Government buyer: Midland Independent School District (Midland ISD), Texas; the request covers 54 eligible entities. No sub-agency or office is identified. - OEMs named: Cisco Systems/Cisco for switches; Aruba for wireless access points and Aruba Central licensing; and Palo Alto for firewalls and related services. The district also accepts functional equivalents for specified equipment. - Products requested: 74 Cisco 9300-48UN switches and 6 Cisco 9200L-48P-4X switches, each with five-year licensing; 440 Aruba AP-635 access points and 25 Aruba AP-675 access points, with five-year licenses; one-year Aruba Central licenses for 1,776 existing access points; two Palo Alto PA-5430 firewalls with five-year subscriptions; and specified cables, fiber, and 10G MM SFPs. The Form 470 also gives category totals of 80 switches, 2,241 wireless access points, 30 antenna/connector items, and 3,610 cabling items. These are category-level counts; the detailed specifications separately identify the itemized equipment and quantities. - Connectivity and services: Two dedicated 20 Gbps internet circuits, with the Form 470 describing a 10–25 Gbps capacity range; installation and configuration of network equipment; firewall deployment, policy migration, and handoff; training for two staff; and basic firewall maintenance. - Notable requirements: Internet proposals must state guaranteed synchronous bandwidth, pricing, and installation charges. The network work must integrate with the district’s existing environment, including Aruba Central and Cisco-based networking and VoIP. Firewalls must support at least 25 Gbps throughput with threat prevention and IPsec enabled. Equipment must be new, and FCC-covered manufacturers are prohibited. Cabling quantities refer to items, not feet. The district seeks complete project proposals rather than bids limited to individual components.
