HUD is seeking approval to revise its information collection for applications for HUD/FHA-insured mortgages; this is not a request to buy products or services. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), through the Office of Policy Development and Research and the Chief Data Officer; the collection concerns Federal Housing Administration (FHA)-insured mortgages. - Forms and information collected: HUD-92900-A and related exhibits and forms, HUD-92900-B, HUD-92900-LT, HUD-92561, HUD-92544, and the Model Notice for Informed Consumer Choice Disclosure Settlement Certification. The forms support determining borrower and mortgage-transaction eligibility for FHA mortgage insurance, lender notifications for certain refinances involving existing FHA partial-claim subordinate liens, and related settlement and insurance information. - Estimated annual collection burden: 2,045 respondents, 3,240,953 responses, and 435,558.31 burden hours. - Notable revision: HUD proposes removing Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Form 1103, the Supplemental Consumer Information Form (SCIF), because HUD considers it a government-sponsored enterprise requirement, not a HUD statutory or regulatory requirement. - OEMs and vendors: No product manufacturers or commercial vendors are identified. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are mentioned in connection with Form 1103.

Description

HUD is seeking Office of Management and Budget approval for a proposed information collection and inviting public comments under the Paperwork Reduction Act. The collection includes forms and related documents used to determine borrower and mortgage transaction eligibility for FHA mortgage insurance, as well as lender notifications for certain refinances. The renewal revises the supporting statement and removes the requirement for lenders to provide Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Form 1103, which HUD says is not a statutory or regulatory requirement. Comments are due November 30, 2026.
