NASA is seeking capability statements for a proposed sole-source purchase of a Keyence digital microscope system for Stennis Space Center. - Agency and location: NASA Shared Services Center (NASA/NSSC), for use at NASA Stennis Space Center. - What NASA needs: One new Keyence VHX-X1 Digital Microscope system for automated particle counting and digital microscopy in the Stennis Precision clean shop. - The requested configuration includes the microscope, console/manual, external controller, camera, zoom lens, lens joint and holder, free-angle observation system, scale adapter, diffuser, and NIST-certified calibration scale. - Key requirements include motorized magnification, 4K 12-megapixel imaging, automated image capture and measurement, multiple lighting modes, and no wireless connectivity. - A VH Support Package providing lifetime support at no additional cost is included. - Procurement approach: NASA proposes a sole-source commercial acquisition from KEYENCE CORPORATION OF AMERICA, identified in the notice as the sole provider of the specified microscope. - Response requested: Written capability statements and qualifications only, so NASA can determine whether there is a basis to compete the requirement. Quotes are not requested or evaluated; oral responses are not accepted. Responses must reference the notice ID. - Deadline and classification: November 3, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time.  SPECIAL NOTICE:

VENDORS MUST REFERENCE THE NOTICE ID WHEN SUBMITTING A CAPABILITY STATEMENT.

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Keyence VHX-X1 Digital Microscope. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to KEYENCE CORPORATION OF AMERICA 669 River DR  STE 403  Elmwood Park, New Jersey 07407-1361 United States under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that KEYENCE CORPORATION OF AMERICA is the sole provider of Keyence VHX-X1 Digital Microscope.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Stennis Space Center (SSC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334513.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 11/3/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

NOTE: Quotes received in response to this notice will NOT be considered and will not be evaluated by NASA’s Technical End User Team. We are currently only requesting Capability Statements.
