Merced County is seeking three new Ford Transit vans configured for prisoner transport, including one accessible vehicle. - Buyer: Merced County, Administrative Services Purchasing Division. - Vehicles: Two Ford Transit medium-roof cargo vans for prisoner transport and one Ford Transit passenger van with an accessible prisoner-transport conversion. - OEMs and named vendors: Ford is the vehicle OEM. The specifications also name Havis, Bussmann (also written “Bussman”), Blue Sea Systems (also written “Blue Seas”), and Altro. Santos Ford is identified as a prospective bidder, not as an awardee. - Prisoner-transport equipment: Each of the two cargo vans requires Havis components: C-TMW-TRNST-01 tunnel-mount assembly, C-1800 enclosed console, C-ARM-102 armrest, PT-A-904 sound-deadening insulation, PT-F06-120-3 transport insert, PT-A-503 vent adapter, PT-A-504 front hose cover, and PT-A-902 flip-down step. Electrical components include Bussmann 7189B-BSS 150-amp resettable circuit breaker; Blue Sea Systems 7615B-BSS 120-amp solenoid/timer; 5029B-BSS 12-circuit water-resistant fuse block; and 5029 FPI MNT BRKT mounting bracket. - Accessible van: Includes the Transit Wheelchair Transporter package (LWBR-1), wheelchair securement location, Altro flooring, running boards, ADA and priority-seating decals, specified retained and fold-away seating, and three-compartment partitions. - Vehicle requirements: Ford Transit configurations include a 148-inch wheelbase, specified engine and transmission, safety and electrical options, and other factory equipment. Vehicles must be new, undamaged, equipped as specified, and accepted following inspection. Bidders must provide vehicle specification sheets and identify exceptions. - Insurance: The agreement requires commercial general liability, automobile liability, and workers’ compensation coverage, including required limits, endorsements, and subcontractor coverage.

Merced County is soliciting bids for two prisoner transportation vans and one ADA prisoner transportation van.
