The Department of the Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division is seeking machining and related production-readiness services for VIRGINIA Class propulsor-device parts. - Government buyer: Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD). - OEMs and vendors: No OEM or supplier is named. Michael Bonaiuto is identified as the contact for requesting specification drawings. - Machined parts: All are drawing-controlled VIRGINIA Class propulsor-device piece parts. Quantities are 675 each for the three S1L items and 160 each for the five R4 items: - S1L Top Cap — part number PR15007, quantity 675. - S1L Bottom Cap — part number PR15008, quantity 675. - S1L Body Tube — part number PR15006, quantity 675. - R4 Top Cap — part number PR15018, quantity 160. - R4 Body Tube — part number PR15019, quantity 160. - R4 Bottom Cap — part number PR15020, quantity 160. - R4 Shim Rings — part number PR15023, quantity 160. - R4 Center Mass — part number PR15024, quantity 160. - Services: Machining and delivery of the listed parts, plus non-recurring engineering and equipment setup, including work instructions, shop travelers, CNC programming, tooling procurement, and production setup. - Notable requirements: The Government furnishes materials for the parts, except the R4 Shim Rings, for which the contractor supplies mild steel meeting ASTM A106. The shim rings require 100% inspection. Drawing-based inspection, quality controls, certifications, packaging, a kickoff meeting, and ongoing reports are also required. Specification drawings are available by request. - Period: Work begins at contract award and continues through the stated performance period; delivery is scheduled shortly after that period ends. No duration, option years, or annual subscription are specified.

Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for part machining.  The compliant service is available from small business vendors on the open market.  The NAICS code is 339999 and the business size is 550 employees.

The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a small business set-aside basis.

The NSWCCD will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible Quoter that submits the responsive quote in response to this solicitation that represent the best value to the Government. See 52.212-2- EVALUATION. Questions/clarification regarding this solicitation must be submitted no later than November 04, 2026 at 12:00 PM Noon.  All questions will be answered in an amendment to the solicitation.
