Replace One Fire Hydrant and Valve at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie

The USDA Forest Service is seeking a contractor to replace a damaged fire hydrant at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Forest Service, Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. - Requirement: Provide and install one fire hydrant and one valve; provide CA-7 stone around the hydrant base for drainage. No model numbers or part numbers are specified. - Work and site requirements: Remove and dispose of or recycle replaced materials; provide pedestrian traffic control, OSHA-compliant trench protection, and backfill the disturbed area to match surrounding grades. Protect the public and site, and follow equipment-cleaning and spill-response requirements. - OEMs and vendors: No manufacturers, OEMs, or vendors are named in the solicitation materials. - Set-aside: Small-business set-aside. - Performance: A short project period is specified, with delivery and completion required within the stated performance window; this is not an annual subscription.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.  Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. 

Solicitation number 12444627Q0003 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the repair/replacement of a fire hydrant.

This acquisition  is set-aside for small business concerns.  The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 237110.  The small business size standard is $45M  This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside.  All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
