Description

The University of Alberta is seeking proposals for an electrical upgrade project involving conversion of Room B-52 in the basement of the South Academic Building into an electrical room to house two new Sectionalizer switchgear units. The existing Sectionalizer switchgear equipment in the North Power Plant is understood to be past its expected lifetime and is critical to campus functions. Work includes adjustments to the room and minor patching, repairs, and refinishing around new or altered services and any construction damage; connections from the switchgear to electrical services outside the room are excluded and are part of a separate project. The contract period is December 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027, and a non-mandatory site information session is scheduled for November 4, 2026.
