Metal roof upgrades for three Summerside housing buildings

The Government of Prince Edward Island is seeking a contractor to upgrade the metal roofs on three PEI Housing buildings in Summerside. - Buyer: Government of Prince Edward Island; Department of Finance and Affordability / Department of Housing & Communities, Housing Services. The procurement is represented in the documents by the Minister of Housing and Communities. - Locations: Summerside A, 208–214 Lefurgey Avenue; Summerside B, 220–226 Lefurgey Avenue; and Summerside C, 234–240 Lefurgey Avenue. - Scope: Supply all materials, labour, and equipment to install metal roofing over the existing asphalt roofs. Work includes permits and measurements, strapping, starter strips, roofing panels, flashing, ridge caps, valleys, ventilation components, snow guards, site protection, repairs, gutter cleaning, daily cleanup, and waste disposal. Bids must include freight, delivery, and dumpage costs. - Named OEMs and vendors: Kennedy Metals Inc. and Vic West are acceptable sources for the roofing panels; Kennedy Metals is also named for the SGNC-style snow guards. Marco Metal Roof Polymer Sealant is the specified sealant, or an approved equal. - Key materials and specifications: 28-gauge ABM metal roofing panels with an anti-siphon channel, ribs spaced 9 inches apart, and 36-inch overall coverage, or approved equal. Roof colour must be confirmed with the Government before ordering. Roofing screws are to be 2 inches long and colour-matched; flashing and starter strips are to match the roofing metal. Use 3-inch countersunk wood screws at 24-inch spacing into rafters for strapping; nailing is not acceptable. - Snow guards: Minimum 28-gauge metal, colour-matched, Kennedy Metals Product Number SGNC style in 10-foot lengths or equivalent, installed as a continuous run on all roof sides. Clip-style guards are not acceptable. - Protection and warranties: Protect buildings and occupants, repair damage, and maintain clean work areas. Provide a minimum 35-year warranty on roofing materials and a one-year warranty on labour and installation. - Performance period: Work is to be completed within the stated project period. No start date, option years, or recurring subscription are identified.

The Province of Prince Edward Island’s Department of Housing and Communities is seeking proposals for metal roof upgrades at three Summerside buildings: Summerside A, B, and C, located on Lefurgey Avenue.
