Desert Star Academy is seeking E-Rate-funded fiber internet service and network infrastructure for its Fort Mohave, Arizona school. - Buyer: Desert Star Academy Inc., a K–12 school in Mohave County, Arizona. - Internet service: Four Internet Access and Data Transmission Service units; fiber bandwidth must start at 1 Gbps and be priced in 1 Gbps increments up to 10 Gbps. Include a handoff to the school’s LAN, outage reporting, basic technical support without extra service fees, and an SLA. - Fiber construction and installation: Include trenching, boring, plowing, conduit, handholes, vaults, poles, fiber cable, splicing, termination, labeling, testing, acceptance, and project management. - Internal fiber backbone: Furnish and install two estimated 500-foot pulls of 6-strand multimode OM3 fiber connecting first-floor IDFs; include pulling, termination, and testing. Equivalent, cost-effective solutions may be proposed. - Category 2 equipment and cabling: The listed request includes cabling in lengths of 36,000, 15,000, 5, and 1,000 feet; two racks; four switches; two UPS/battery-backup units; and 30 wireless access points, with required software/licenses where applicable. - OEMs: Ubiquiti (or equivalent) is identified for switches and wireless access points; American Power Conversion (or equivalent) is identified for UPS/battery backup. No preferred manufacturer is specified for cabling or racks; the newer backbone specification does not name an OEM. - Maintenance: Basic maintenance is requested for cabling, four switches, two UPS units, and 30 wireless access points. - Contract options: One-, three-, and five-year options are requested for internet service; the RFP prefers a one-year contract. Three- and five-year options should permit bandwidth upgrades. The contract is contingent on E-Rate funding, and listed quantities are estimates.
