The City of Homestead is seeking bids for electrical equipment and materials for the Donnie Avocado 138kV/13.2kV distribution substation. - Buyer: City of Homestead, through its Procurement & Contract Services Department and City of Homestead Power System (HPS), Florida. - Named OEMs: Siemens Energy (CPV2-145-40 circuit switchers), Southern States (EV-series disconnect switches), Hitachi Energy (IMB potential and current transformers), and Siemens and Hitachi (SDV7-series circuit breakers). Approved equivalents may be considered subject to review. - Equipment requested: - 2 Siemens Energy CPV2-145-40 138kV vertical-break SF6 circuit switchers. - 2 Southern States EV-2H Series 138kV motor-operated vertical-break disconnect switches. - 1 Southern States EV Series 138kV manual vertical-break disconnect switch. - 4 Hitachi Energy IMB or CP 138kV potential transformers. - 6 Hitachi Energy IMB 138kV current transformers. - 1 Siemens or Hitachi SDV7 Series 13.8kV outdoor vacuum main breaker, rated 2000A. - 6 Siemens or Hitachi SDV7 Series 13.8kV outdoor vacuum feeder breakers, rated 1200A each. - Notable requirements: Equipment must suit South Florida’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Wind-load calculations must be certified by a Florida-licensed professional engineer and use a 175 mph design wind. Corrosion-resistant stainless-steel or marine-grade components and specified IEEE/ANSI/NEMA testing and submittals are required. - Scope: Supply includes engineering, fabrication, factory testing, packaging, and FOB Destination delivery to Homestead. Installation, foundations, field wiring, and commissioning are excluded. Bids require itemized pricing, technical information, and estimated delivery times; the City may award individual items, groups, or a complete package.

Description

The City of Homestead Power System is soliciting bids for the supply and delivery of major equipment and materials for the Donnie Avocado 138kV/13.2kV Substation Project. The procurement includes circuit switchers, disconnect switches, potential and current transformers, and 13.8kV main and feeder breakers, with engineering, fabrication, factory testing, packaging, and FOB Destination delivery. Installation, civil foundation work, field wiring, and final commissioning are outside the scope and will be performed by the City’s electrical construction contractor.
