The Department of the Air Force is seeking a high-precision wavemeter system for Air Force Institute of Technology research. - Government buyer: Department of the Air Force; Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), office AFIT/ENP. The opportunity is being handled through the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Installation Contracting Division, Base Support Contracting Branch, Operational Contracting Branch at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. - Named OEMs: TOPTICA and High Finesse, identified with the requested wavemeter system. - Requested products: One HF-ANGS WS8-2 wavemeter with MCLC8 multichannel switch (part number HF-ANGS WS8-2 MCLC8) and one absolute rubidium (Rb) reference calibration source. A separate attachment also describes a high-precision wavemeter without specifying a model or quantity. - System capabilities: Measure wavelengths from 390–1180 nm, measure up to eight wavelengths simultaneously, and support continuous-wave or pulsed sources. Requirements include 10 MHz absolute accuracy across 390–1180 nm, 2 MHz accuracy within 2 nm of the reference source, 200 kHz resolution, 1 kHz measurement speed, USB 2.0, and software with a PID controller for stabilizing an external laser frequency. - Calibration source: 780.24 nm wavelength, 0–5 mW power, 0.5 MHz absolute accuracy at constant temperature, self-recalibration, and less than two minutes' warm-up time. - Services and notable requirements: Installation and up to 20 hours of operational training are required. The system must include associated hardware, firmware, and software, be from a qualifying country, and carry a warranty of at least 90 days after receipt of order. - Performance timing: Delivery is required within 180 days after receipt of order. This is a one-time equipment purchase with installation and training; no annual subscription is specified.

This notice is to determine the availability of qualified sources to support this requirement. A set-aside decision has not yet been made for this acquisition.
REQUIREMENTS: The Government requires a contractor to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to perform High-Precision Wavemeter measurements and required data for physics research at the AFIT, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
The requirements are listed in the attached Statement of Work.
SUBMISSION DETAILS: Interested parties are requested to submit a capability package that provides clear and convincing evidence of their ability to provide the services outlined above. In addition, interested parties must provide the following information:
Company Name, Address, CAGE Code, and Unique Entity ID (UEI). Point of Contact (Name, Phone Number, and Email Address). Company/Business size status under a relevant NAICS code 334516. Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at https://www.sam.gov to be eligible for a Department of Defense contract award.
CLOSING: Responses to this Sources Sought notice must be submitted via email no later than November 12, 2026, at 11:00am Eastern Time. All correspondence sent via email must contain the subject line: “FA860127Q0020, Sources Sought: “High-Precision Wavemeter”
