Fisheries and Oceans Canada is seeking contractors to maintain dredge depths at three Fraser River small craft harbours in British Columbia. - Government buyer: Fisheries and Oceans Canada (Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada), Small Craft Harbours (Ports pour petits bateaux). - Sites and work: Kanaka Landing in Maple Ridge, and McMillan Island and McIvor’s Landing in Langley. Work includes propeller-wash dredging, clamshell dredging, mobilization, demobilization, and cleanup. Whonnock Harbour is excluded. - Depth targets: −2.5 m chart datum at Kanaka Landing and McIvor’s Landing; −3.5 m at McMillan Island. - Scope and quantities: Bid forms list 64 hours each for propeller-wash dredging and clamshell dredging, plus a mobilization/demobilization line item. Another schedule lists three-site quantities for the dredging services and mobilization; these appear to use a different basis and are not combined here. - Equipment and operating requirements: Propeller-wash work requires a contractor-provided tug under 10 m long, with at least 300 hp and a Kort nozzle. Clamshell work requires a spud barge and excavator or crane, with at least 6 m reach and a clamshell bucket of at least 0.5 m³. The contractor must coordinate the two dredging methods; tide conditions may require night work. - Environmental and delivery requirements: Provide supervision, labour, equipment, materials, transport, quality control, safety practices, and environmental protection. A qualified Environmental Monitor and water-quality monitoring are required during potentially harmful in-water work, along with DFO fish-habitat mitigation measures. Canadian contractors only. - OEMs and named commercial vendors: No OEMs, manufacturers, or commercial vendors are named in the provided materials.
