The City of Conway’s Department of Sanitation is procuring a turnkey optical-sorting system and conveyor for its materials recovery facility. - Government buyer: City of Conway, Arkansas — Department of Sanitation; Purchasing Department. - Named OEMs and products: - National Recovery Technologies (NRT): SpydIR-60HS NIR hyperspectral imaging (HSI) dual-eject optical sorter, nominally 60 inches wide, with dust-sealed access doors. The existing NRT sorter is to be removed. - Bulk Handling Systems (BHS): ACL-60 acceleration conveyor, 60 inches wide by 20 feet long, slider-bed design with variable-frequency drive (VFD). - Quantities: One sorter and one conveyor. Compliant equivalents may be proposed if they meet the requirements. - Turnkey scope: Provide required support steel, controls and plant integration, engineering and drawings, shipping, mechanical and electrical installation, startup, commissioning, training, and removal of the existing sorter. The City provides compressed-air and electrical drops. - Notable requirements: Integrate with the existing processing line, plant controls, utilities, and safety interfaces while minimizing operational disruption. Include remote diagnostics, a local HMI, material-composition analysis and trending, and performance guarantees and testing information. Equipment is to ship 22–24 weeks after approved drawings; the installation outage may not exceed nine days, with no more than five days interrupting normal operations.

Description

The City of Conway is seeking bids from qualified manufacturers and/or authorized integrators for a complete near-infrared (NIR) hyperspectral imaging (HSI) optical sorting system and a 60-inch acceleration conveyor to replace the existing NRT optical sorter at its materials recovery facility. The work includes design, manufacture, delivery, installation, start-up, and commissioning, including integration with existing plant structure, compressed-air supply, electrical service, and controls. The project aims to improve recovery and purity of targeted commodities, ejection accuracy, and operating efficiency while minimizing operational disruption. Site visits are available by appointment from November 2–5, 2026.
