Niagara Region Transit Building Automation and HVAC Controls Upgrade

Niagara Region is seeking proposals to upgrade building automation and HVAC controls at its Niagara Regional Transit building in St. Catharines, Ontario. - Buyer: Regional Municipality of Niagara (Niagara Region). - Scope: Replace 10 existing Carrier Open XP controllers with open-source BACnet controllers and add 1 JACE 9000 controller. - Integration: Connect the upgraded system to Niagara Region’s BAS Supervisor and integrate 2 existing Carrier rooftop units, 1 ERV with Metasys controls, and 2 Trane heat-pump rooftop units. - Services and requirements: Supply and install equipment; provide programming, graphics, proxy points, and alarms; and develop sequences of operation for makeup air units and exhaust fans. Description

The Regional Municipality of Niagara is requesting proposals to upgrade the Niagara Regional Transit building’s HVAC building automation system. Work includes replacing 10 Carrier Open XP controllers with open-source BACnet controllers, adding a JACE 9000, connecting the system to the Region’s BAS Supervisor, and providing equipment, installation, programming, graphics, proxy points, and alarms. The new BAS must also integrate two Carrier rooftop units, an ERV with Metasys controls, and two Trane heat-pump rooftop units. The successful proponent will work with Region staff to develop sequences of operation for the makeup air units and exhaust fans, with the final sequence stamped by a professional engineer.
