Saskatoon Public Library Inter-Branch Delivery Services

Saskatoon Public Library is seeking a qualified provider for recurring inter-branch delivery services across its library network and partner locations. - Government buyer: Saskatoon Public Library (SPL), Finance & Administrative Services. - Service requested: Inter-branch delivery of library materials among nine SPL libraries, the Operations Centre, and three non-SPL locations. Average daily volume is approximately 650 bins, averaging 25 pounds each. - Recurring routes: Daily bin pickups and drop-offs on SPL open days; weekday cash-deposit deliveries from eight library locations to Alice Turner Library; weekday 7:30 a.m. bin pickup and drop-off at Sturdy Stone Centre; and service to Wheatland Regional Library Headquarters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. - Additional work: Occasional transport of small items weighing 30 pounds or less that do not fit in bins, approximately twice monthly. Weekend deliveries may occasionally be requested and negotiated separately. - Notable requirements: The contractor supplies suitable vehicles and moving equipment, provides bonded and licensed drivers, securely handles keys and alarm codes, maintains required insurance, and supports consistent routes and service continuity. Undelivered bins must be unloaded at the Operations Centre for overnight storage and reloaded the next morning. - OEMs and vendors: No OEMs, product vendors, or specific service providers are named. No products, part numbers, or product quantities are requested.

Description

Saskatoon Public Library is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide inter-branch delivery service. The successful firm will move bins of library materials between library locations, an operations centre, and three non-SPL locations. Services include daily movement of delivery bins, weekday cash-bag delivery, pickups and drop-offs of interprovincial delivery bins on weekdays and Wheatland Library Headquarters bins twice weekly, and occasional transport of materials outside bins. The proposed contract term is one year beginning January 1, 2027, with an option for up to four additional one-year extensions.
