The U.S. Marshals Service is continuing existing Internet and cable services through an exercised FY27 option. - Agency: U.S. Marshals Service, Department of Justice. - Action: Exercise of an option for continued BTOOLKIT (ITD)/Internet/cable services; this is an award/continuation, not a new solicitation. - Period of performance: March 2, 2027, through March 1, 2028 (one year). - Rationale: The agency cited favorable option pricing and the need to maintain service continuity; ending service could require bridge contracts and risk an interruption. - Scope details: No quantities, part numbers, named service provider, or specific technical requirements are provided.
Description
MEMORANDOM FOR RECORD:
FY27 CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS OPERATING LLC
FY27 OPTION YEAR EXERCIZED
CAGE CODE: 4WWK4
SUBJECT: DETERMINATION AND FINDINGS CONCERNING THE EXERCISE OF OPTION(PRICING)
AUTHORITY:
In accordance with the requirements of FAR 17.207, findings are made as follows:
FINDINGS:
The U.S. Marshals Service shall exercise all FY27 contracts with option years, unless specifically notified regarding a single contract.
The U.S. Marshals Service has an existing need for BTOOLKIT(ITD)/INTERNET/CABLE. Special Notice posted on SAM.gov.
Applicable CLINS will be exercised to continue services for the contract period FY27 from 02 MARCH 2027 through 01 MARCH 2028.
The contractor has shown that it is capable of providing the services in an acceptable manner over the previous contract period.
This option was evaluated as part of the overall initial contract evaluation.
An informal analysis of prices and an examination of the market indicate that the available option price is more advantageous, all factors considered.
7. Price Analysis:
Any disruption of service BTOOLKIT(ITD)/INTERNET/CABLE could potentially mean that small bridge contracts will have to be awarded until another large contract can be put into place. This will cause additional money, and time to be expended by individuals involved in the award process and a possible break in the contract. This is an unacceptable risk for the USMS.
DETERMINATION
In consideration of the Government's need for continuity of services and a favorable informal price analysis, it is determined that the exercise of this option is the most advantageous method of fulfilling the Government's need. It is further determined that all actions have been completed in accordance with the terms of the contract option extension clause, and the requirements of Section 17.207 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
