Replace four Trane rooftop HVAC units at Salt Lake County’s Christmas Box House

Salt Lake County is seeking bids to replace the rooftop HVAC system at the Youth Services Christmas Box House in Salt Lake City. - Government buyer: Salt Lake County, Contracts and Procurement, on behalf of Facilities Management. - Requested OEM equipment — Trane: Four rooftop units: two model YZK150A3SBH units (RTU-1 and RTU-2) and two model YZK240A3SOM units (RTU-3 and RTU-4). The plans also reference an existing Alerton VLC-853 controller, which is to be updated rather than newly supplied. - Construction and services: Remove and replace the existing units; reconnect gas, electrical, ductwork, and controls; provide or repair roof curbs and roofing; install seismic restraints; replace breakers as needed; and connect unit smoke detectors to the fire alarm system. Update controls programming and building-automation graphics, perform factory startup and testing and balancing, train County maintenance staff, and provide project closeout. - Notable requirements: Provide a complete operating system and a one-year labor-and-materials warranty. Stage the work and provide temporary heating or cooling as needed to maintain specified indoor temperatures. Controls work must be performed by a Salt Lake County-approved controls vendor. The project has a 45-calendar-day completion period after Notice to Proceed; liquidated damages are $450 per calendar day.

Salt Lake County is soliciting construction bids to replace four rooftop HVAC units at Christmas Box House, 3660 So. West Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. The work includes removal and installation of the units, reconnection of gas, power, ductwork, and controls, roof and curb repairs, testing and balancing, and related commissioning and controls work. Bidders must hold at least a Utah B-100 license and submit required bid documents, including a bid bond equal to 5% of the bid. The optional site visit is scheduled for October 29, 2026, and bids are due November 12, 2026.
