The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking hurricane debris removal at J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge in Florida. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), SAT Team 3; work site is J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island. - Requested service: Remove and lawfully dispose of disaster-generated, non-vegetative construction and household debris from an approximately four-acre mangrove wetland area. Hazardous materials and household putrescible garbage are excluded. - Work approach: Remove debris without vehicles or heavy equipment in the debris field, stage it at the refuge’s Gavin Site, then haul it off-site for proper disposal. The contractor provides labor, equipment, materials, transportation, supervision, and safety and spill-response plans. - Key requirements: Achieve complete debris removal while minimizing harm to sensitive habitat; comply with inspection, quality assurance, and daily reporting requirements. - Price schedule services: Field crew and supervisor labor; project management and administration; tools, PPE, and consumables; debris hauling and disposal; mobilization and demobilization; and QA/QC compliance and daily reporting.
