Clemson University is seeking one complete Thorlabs-based confocal cage microscope system and its specified optical, mechanical, and control components for spectroscopy research. - Government buyer: Clemson University, College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences, Clemson, South Carolina. - OEM: Thorlabs is the specified manufacturer for the system and listed components. Objective lenses are exempt from the Thorlabs-brand requirement; no other OEMs or vendors are named. - System purpose and performance: Spatially resolved spectroscopy from 300–2200 nm at few-micron lateral resolution. The optical layout must be parallel to the optical table and fit within 24 × 36 × 6 inches. - Key system requirements: Switchable epi-illumination from a monochromator fiber bundle, cage-mounted LED, or free-space lasers; laser isolation greater than 20 dB for up to 300 mW at 640, 785, and 980 nm; minimal realignment between laser lines; a 5–10× beam expander; common illumination and neutral-density attenuation paths; and interchangeable dichroics for visible, NIR, SWIR, and broadband operation. - Imaging and detection: Metallurgical infinity-corrected objectives; monochrome USB3 camera with at least 1920 × 1200 resolution, C-mount compatibility, and vendor-supported software; reflective confocal detection optics; fiber-exchange-adjustable confocality; and a collection arm with a hard aperture stop and adjustable filter slot. The system must also support user-supplied fiber-bundle halogen illumination. - Stage and assembly: Computer-interface-ready stepper-motor XYZ stage with fiber-mounting keyways. Optical components must be aligned within 250 microns, and fixed-height mounts are required for primary components. - Products and quantities: One complete system (Lot A), plus the itemized Thorlabs components listed below, including one MAX383 XYZ stage, one BSC203 controller, one MJC3 joystick, optical filters and dichroics, fiber components, mounts, cage hardware, laser isolators, safety screens, and related accessories. Component quantities and part numbers are itemized below. - Services and support: Installation documentation, on-site installation and commissioning, at least two days of on-site user training, remote technical support, and a minimum one-year parts-and-labor warranty with software updates, bug fixes, and repair support. - Commercial requirements: One-time purchase; shipping is excluded from equipment prices and must be itemized separately. The system is solicited as a single lot for one vendor.
Description
Clemson University seeks quotations for a one-time purchase of Thorlabs Micro PL System components, including a confocal cage microscope system and related equipment. The equipment must be new and Thorlabs brand, except that the specifications allow objective lenses to be an exception to the brand requirement. The lot will be awarded to one vendor, based on the lowest responsible and responsive offer. Bidders must submit a written quotation and pricing through Clemson University’s online bidding system; equipment pricing should exclude shipping, which must be itemized separately.
