Description
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is extending the compliance date for requirements to make formal entries for certain merchandise arriving through the international postal network. The requirements apply to merchandise subject to partner government agency requirements, specified duties under HTSUS Chapters 98 or 99, or claimed duty-free treatment under HTSUS Chapter 98 or a Free Trade Agreement. The compliance date for 19 CFR 145.12(a)(2)(v) and (vi) is extended to January 20, 2027, giving importers, brokers, and logistics providers more time to update systems and procedures. The rule does not change the informal mail-entry process during the extension period.
