McClure Center Abatement, Demolition, and Site Beautification

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is seeking a qualified firm to remove the McClure Center and restore and beautify the project site in St. Augustine. - Government buyer: Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB), State of Florida, Purchasing Department; St. Johns County, Florida. - Project: Existing McClure Demolition & Beautification, solicitation RFP-27-068. - Requested services: - Abatement and demolition of the approximately 13,040-square-foot McClure Center, Building #22. - Removal and disposal of an approximately 116-foot covered-walkway section, foundations, elevator, sidewalks, HVAC units, and related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and pads. - Walkway repairs, site backfill and grading, landscaping, and hardscaping, including sod, shrubs, trees, concrete sidewalks, and a concrete slab. - Building construction management is also identified in the solicitation. - Notable requirements: Protect the existing electrical transformer and main distribution panel; verify and protect utilities and other site features; carefully remove, salvage, and store the aluminum fence; and secure or disconnect existing utility services. Work must comply with applicable codes and environmental regulations. Required permits, inspections, and associated fees are part of the work. - Funding and performance: The contract amount may not exceed $700,000 and is subject to available funding. Work is anticipated during 2027, with completion requirements extending into late summer; the agreement is not renewable.
