Engineering and project delivery services for Brunswick County’s US Highway 74 Parallel Force Main

Brunswick County Public Utilities is seeking an engineering team to design and support delivery of the US Highway 74 Parallel Force Main project. - Government buyer: Brunswick County, through Brunswick County Public Utilities; Utilities Operations Center. - Opportunity: Professional engineering, design, project management, and construction oversight for a force main project in northeastern Brunswick County. - Project scope: Approximately 14,000 linear feet of 24-inch force main (Section 1/34A), from I-140/Highway 74 to Shadowloop Road, and 22,100 linear feet of 18-inch force main (Section 2/34B), from Shadowloop Road to International Boulevard. - Requested services: Study and report preparation; preliminary and final design; project management; hydraulic modeling using SewerCAD or SewerGEMS; survey and base mapping; wetlands delineation; geotechnical investigations; permitting; easement identification and recordable plats; bid-ready plans and contract documents; probable-cost estimates; construction oversight through completion; and bidding and negotiating support. - Permitting and approvals may include: NCDOT encroachment approval; US Army Corps of Engineers 401/404 permits or notifications; applicable NCDEQ wetlands, sewer, erosion-control, and stormwater permits; and County stormwater, zoning, and planning approvals. - Notable requirements: Firms should demonstrate experience on at least three similar projects, identify key personnel and roles, explain their project approach and management plan, provide a schedule incorporating County review periods, and estimate labor hours by task and labor classification. The selected firm will help refine the scope and prepare a lump-sum proposal inclusive of permit fees and other expenses. - OEMs and vendors: No engineering firms, vendors, or software manufacturers are named.
