Fermilab VD Cryostat Roof Decking Bar Grating and Saddle Clips

Fermi Forward Discovery Group is seeking custom bar grating and saddle clips for Fermilab’s VD cryostat roof decking. - Buyer: U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science; Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), Procurement Department. Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC (FFDG; also called FermiForward) is procuring for Fermilab’s LBNF/DUNE project and Far Detector & Cryogenics subproject. The solicitation identifies Karen Berger. - Requested products: 530 galvanized hot-dipped bar-grating panels in eight sizes, plus 2,120 saddle clips: 1,768 Type W44 and 352 Type W10. No OEM, manufacturer, or part numbers are specified. - Bar grating is for cryostat roof decking and must match the provided drawing. Requirements include 1-1/2-inch bearing-bar height, 3/16-inch thickness, a 48-inch nominal unsupported span, maximum 1-inch clear spacing, minimum 100 PSF live load and 1,000 lb concentrated load, and maximum 0.25-inch deflection. - Clips must attach to W44x290 cryostat roof beams and/or W10x49 spacer beams. - Additional requirements: Include lead time; provide a logistics and shipping plan and available operator manuals.
