Replace glazing and gaskets, remediate pressure bars and sealant joints, and complete related masonry and interior-finish work. Retain existing aluminum frames where specified; salvage and reinstall applicable exterior stone, interior sills, and shades. - Level 7 details: Replace vision and spandrel glass while retaining the existing aluminum grid and spandrel insulation backing; review, clean, and reseal internal zone dams and primary sealant joints. - OEMs and named technical providers: Alpana is identified with the existing curtainwall system; Wausau is referenced for compatible gasket components; and Viracon was consulted regarding glass makeup. The materials also name WL Hall and BWBR as study/report providers. No OEM is mandated for the replacement work. - Requirements: Design-build contractor provides engineering, permit and shop drawings, procurement, installation, testing coordination, and a joint 10-year system warranty. The work must meet AAMA GS-001, minimize disruption to active research, classroom, and administrative operations, and include dust containment, interior protection, access coordination, and engineered staging. Contractor is responsible for retesting and corrective work if initial testing fails. - Hazardous materials: A limited asbestos survey found no asbestos-containing materials in sampled work-area materials. Dust-minimizing methods, including misting and keeping materials wet during renovation, are recommended. - Budget and schedule: Project budget is $360,000. Work is anticipated to proceed in late 2026, with substantial completion required by late spring 2027.
