The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking qualified consultants for tunnel engineering support across its capital and operations projects. - Government buyer: The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California; Professional Services department, supporting the Engineering Services Group. - Opportunity: Establish a pre-qualified pool of civil engineering consultants specializing in tunnel design and engineering. Assignments may be on-call or project-specific; qualification does not guarantee work. - Services requested: Support from planning and feasibility through design, construction, and post-construction, including geotechnical investigations and analyses; tunnel, shaft, chamber, and rock excavation design; constructability reviews; contract documents; cost estimates and schedules; construction support; tunnel inspections; and forensic evaluations. - Requirements: Relevant principals and key personnel must have at least ten years of experience; firms must have at least five years providing the required services. Applicable final deliverables require sealing by a California-registered Civil or Structural Engineer. The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking qualifications to develop a pre-qualified list of tunnel design consultants. Selected consultants may provide on-call and project-specific engineering services for Capital Improvement Plan and Operations & Maintenance projects involving new facilities, expansions, rehabilitation, evaluations, and investigations to support system reliability. Agreement amounts and durations will vary according to the services required, and inclusion on the pre-qualified list does not guarantee an agreement or work. Minimum qualifications include at least ten years of relevant experience for principals/key personnel, California professional registrations and licenses in required fields, and at least five years in business providing the required services.
