The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is seeking comments on renewing a driver-training information collection, not purchasing products or services. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Commercial Drivers License Division. - Purpose: Register entry-level commercial motor vehicle driver-training providers in FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry and record certifications for trainees who complete training. - Collection requirements: Providers register once, update information at least every two years and when key details change, and submit certification information after each trainee completes training. - Estimated scope: 26,284 respondents, about 0.55 hours per response, and 198,730 hours of annual reporting burden. The renewal would allow the collection to continue through 2030. - Related notice: The attachment also references a Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) hearing and comment-period extension concerning Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited’s air-brake-testing waiver petition; this is separate from the FMCSA information collection. - No OEMs, procurement vendors, products, or contracted services are identified.
Description
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requests renewal of its information collection titled “Training Certification for Entry-Level Commercial Motor Vehicle Operators.” The collection is used to register entry-level driver training providers and provide State Drivers' Licensing Agencies with information about individuals who completed the training. Training providers submit information electronically to FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry, including provider details and driver-trainee training certifications. If approved, the renewal would allow collection to continue until 2030.
