K9 FY27 Timber Sale: Purchase and Removal at Naval Weapons Station Crane

NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic is seeking bids for the purchase and removal of timber at Naval Weapons Station Crane in Indiana. - Government buyer: Department of the Navy, Naval Weapons Station Crane; NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic. - Procurement: K9 FY27 timber sale across four tracts totaling approximately 197 acres, with about 1,768 marked trees estimated at 511,280 board feet using the Doyle Log Scale. Volumes are estimates, not guaranteed. - Work required: Purchaser cuts, harvests, loads, and removes the designated trees and provides all labor, materials, and equipment. Timber in each tract must be paid for before harvesting that tract. - Important requirements: Bidders are responsible for inspecting and assessing the timber. Work must comply with seasonal Indiana Bat habitat protections, installation access and safety procedures, performance security requirements, and forestry, environmental, and site-restoration controls. - OEMs and vendors: No commercial OEMs, manufacturers, or vendors are identified; no manufactured products or part numbers are requested.

Description

The K9 FY27 Timber Sale (Contract No. N40085-27-RP-00049) is located on Naval Weapons Station, Crane, Indiana, and consists of four (4) tracts totaling approximately 197 acres. Maps of the harvest areas are available at the Natural Resources office, NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, 300 Highway 361, Building 3245, at Naval Weapons Station, Crane, Indiana, 47522. 

Bids shall be prepared in accordance with the IFB and Standard Form 114 (Sale of Government Property -- Bid and Award).  

Bids are due no later than 2:00 P.M. local time on Thursday, November 19, 2026, and shall be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to Commanding Officer, Attention: K9 Timber Sale, NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, Building 2516, Naval Weapons Station, Crane, Indiana, 47522.  

Sealed bids will be received for the purchase and removal of approximately 1,768 trees estimated to contain 511,280 board feet computed according to Doyle Log Scale to be harvested from approximately 197 acres within the boundaries of Naval Weapons Station Crane, Crane, Indiana. Bids will be opened publicly at 2:00 P.M. local time on Thursday, November 19, 2026, and read at the office of NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, 300 Highway 361, Building 2516, Conference Room “B” at Naval Weapons Station, Crane, Indiana, 47522. This is a firm-fixed price lump sum/per unit sale. Inspection of the timber offered for sale and removal is invited and strongly encouraged.
