The Department of the Navy’s NAVSEA Surface Systems Contracts Division is advancing SEWIP Block 2 production through a modification awarded to Lockheed Martin Corporation. - Government buyer: Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Surface Systems Contracts Division (SEA 025). - Award and OEM: A firm-fixed-price modification valued at $74,294,440 was awarded to Lockheed Martin Corporation, the named SEWIP system manufacturer. The accompanying procurement information describes a sole-source modification for production requirements. - Systems and equipment: Up to eight AN/SLQ-32(V)6 systems, two AN/SLQ-32A(V)6 systems, and three AN/SLQ-32C(V)6 systems, plus VPX Field Change Kits, SEWIP Test Sets, and supporting spares and hardware. Quantities for the kits, test sets, spares, and hardware are not specified. - Purpose and customers: SEWIP Block 2 upgrades surface-ship electronic warfare capabilities. The award supports Foreign Military Sales to Canada and Japan and procurement for the U.S. Coast Guard. - Notable requirement: The Navy cites schedule and fleet-readiness risks as the reason for the sole-source approach; a future SEWIP family-of-systems multiple-award contract is planned.
