MCI-West is publishing the approved sole-source justification for a short bridge contract supporting WTI 1-27 live-flight training at MCAS Yuma. - Award: Contract M00681-26-P-0076 to VTS Aviation LLC, valued at $527,834.44. - Requirement: Foreign-adversary rotary-wing support using a Mi-24 HIND and surrogate unmanned aerial system (UAS) threat replication for Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1). - Fixed-wing aircraft and classroom academic instruction are excluded. - Period: September 23 through October 24, 2026—approximately four weeks, with no option periods. - Competition rationale: The sole-source bridge is justified by unusual and compelling urgency following a protest and corrective action, which prevent a competitive re-award before the live-flight phase. VTS Aviation completed required safety and tactical planning. - Future procurement: The justification is limited to WTI 1-27; future requirements, including WTI 2-27 in Spring 2027, are intended to be competed.
