NASA procurement of Haynes 230, 233, 282, and 244 alloy sheets

NASA is seeking four Haynes International alloy sheet materials for NASA Glenn Research Center’s alloy-comparison program. - Government buyer: National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), including NASA Shared Services Center and NASA Glenn Research Center; contact named in the attachment: Christopher Kantzos. Performance/delivery location is Cleveland, Ohio. - OEM: Haynes International; the solicitation specifies its Haynes alloys as a brand-name requirement because the alloys are proprietary and within the patent timeframe. - Products: Haynes 230, Haynes 233, Haynes 282, and Haynes 244 sheet. The attachment describes 30 ft² of each alloy, with each alloy from the same heat/lot. - Material specifications: Thickness 0.08 +0.055/-0.005; sheet dimensions from 12 in. (RD) × 12 in. (TD) minimum to 120 in. (RD) × 48 in. (TD) maximum. - Quote requirements: Provide unit pricing, availability or lead time, shipping cost, OEM name and lot number(s), AMS specification certification, and verification of AMS chemistry and mechanical properties. Include optional pricing to cut sheets into 40-in. RD segments, if available. - Notable requirement: NASA states that omitting these alloys would significantly reduce the scope of a program comparing multiple alloys.
