Sanitary Lateral Inspection, Assessment, and Conditional Design Services

The City of Mequon Sewer Utility is seeking professional engineering services to assess a sanitary lateral at 4207 West Mequon Road following a basement backup. - Buyer: City of Mequon, Sewer Utility. - Part 1 — inspection and assessment: Televise and, if needed, clean the estimated 119-foot lateral. Document its condition, defects, materials, size changes, and the boundary between public and private ownership. The anticipated segments are a 4-inch clay private lateral and a 6-inch reinforced-concrete public lateral. - Alternatives and costs: Identify at least two ways to address defects and provide cost estimates that distinguish public and private responsibility. Potential approaches include pipe bursting, sag repair, cured-in-place lining, and full replacement. - Part 2 — conditional design services: If authorized after Part 1, prepare construction plans and technical specifications for the selected option, along with materials required for a WisDOT right-of-way permit. Traffic control plans may be required. - OEMs and vendors: No OEMs, product vendors, or named service providers are identified; no equipment or products are being purchased.
